Tips on hiking:
Depending on who you ask, hiking is a great way to exercise outdoors while enjoying nature. But to make the most of it, it’s important to be prepared and follow some simple rules.
Be prepared, choose appropriate and comfortable clothing and footwear - don’t forget a windbreaker, just in case the weather makes a turn for the worse. Always bring lots of water, snacks, and a basic first aid kit.
It’s always a good idea to go with one or more hiking buddies. Don’t forget to tell your close ones when and where you are going, as well as when you plan on coming back. This might be crucial in case something happens to you.
Finally, be mindful of your surroundings, and leave them the same way you found them by practicing the “Leave No Trace” approach. Keep the hiking trails and nature you see as pristine and beautiful as it was before you, so others can enjoy it too!
There is no better homage to the great outdoors than immortalizing its beauty in a photo. But nature photography is a challenging field if you approach it without knowledge.
First, you need to make sure you bring the right equipment and gear. Freehand is fine when you’re caught in a pinch. But if you want the best shots, make sure to bring a tripod to steady your camera.
Make sure to scout your locations and the best spots beforehand. It’s always better to wait a little longer in the right spot to catch the perfect sunset than to be 5 minutes late for the perfect shot.
Last but not least, be mindful of your surroundings, watch your step, listen for the wildlife, and bring all the necessities for emergency situations.
